Suffolk Wedding Photographer: Miguel & Emma’s Woodhall Manor Wedding

It’s that time of the year where I look back on my wedding season and remember all the great days I had with my various couples. Back in the peak of summer, I shot Emma and Miguel’s Woodhall Manor wedding in Suffolk.

You may remember I shot these two in Switzerland for their engagement shoot, back in the cold of winter. While they live there now, Emma is originally from Suffolk, hence their choice of Woodhall Manor as their venue.

With Miguel originally coming from Venezuela, this was a fusion wedding bringing the best of both!

The wedding ceremony was conducted in both Spanish and English to cater for each side. There were really sweet little nods to the Venezuelan traditions through the day, including shots of the best of Venezuela’s rum, a piñata and a ‘crazy fiesta hour’ on the dance floor.

I remember this being a boiling hot day as it was the start of August, and I loved the fact Emma & Miguel had a homemade ‘Lemonade’ stand for the kids (and photographers who drive…)! So cute!

If you’re having a Woodhall Manor wedding, you’ve chosen well! It’s got the best grounds with such different areas. There’s a gorgeous rose garden (which was in full bloom), a Walled Garden and a dovecote.. with lots of real doves! If there is a covered walkway you can be sure I’ll use it, so that’s where we started out for our couples portraits.

Need to take a second to appreciate Emma’s bridal outfit. I LOVE a crop top and with this two piece from Rime Arodaky is beyond stunning! So boho! Of course Miguel looked super dapper as well!

I had to lean out the tiniest window in the Bridal suite to get this shot of everyone – but so glad I did!

After the wedding breakfast, came speeches. Both families tried their hand at the other’s native tongue and Emma even had signs to teach the guests some spanish. She is a teacher so it makes total sense!

As the sun went down, we all headed outside to do the Piñata smash. It was handmade and maybe a little bit too sturdy, so we had to get the groom to smash it open! Was such a great touch though – I’ve loved seeing a couple of these at my weddings this year.

One of my highlights of the day was the mini fiesta after the first dance. Out came wigs, sunglasses and party accessories from nowhere! The Venezuelans know how to party!

I stayed nearby that night and then spent the day exploring Suffolk. Compared to the day before, the weather was so horrid – Emma & Miguel were so lucky! Still, Suffolk is absolutely beautiful! So grateful for a mini road trip around there for the day!
