London engagement photographer: A Hampstead Heath Pre-Wedding shoot

Spring engagement photos in Hampstead Heath

Spring is normally when I’d be filling my time with lots of pre-wedding shoots ahead of my couple’s weddings in the summer months. With Coronavirus putting a stop to those for now, I’m delving into my archives to offer you one of my favourite ever pre-wedding shoots. Today is a stunning London engagement shoot with Emma and Chris in beautiful Hampstead Heath.

Hampstead Heath has long been one of my favourite places in London. I used to live in Hampstead and I think that’s when it truly became my firm favourite.

I have lots of great memories of it throughout the seasons. Cold winter days building a snowman on the top of Parliament Hill. Glorious summer days when I would walk through the Heath, sometimes all the way to Camden, or lounge in the grass with a book. Going out for chilly walks with my camera in October. October is my favourite of all the months in the heath and I love capturing the colours of the trees. One time I even spotted Benedict Cumberbatch out for a jog. It truly is a sanctuary in the heart of London.

I met Emma and Chris at the Kenwood House end of Hampstead Heath. It was actually the first time I had ever been to the northern part of the Heath! Normally I always walked around the south end of the heath and had some how never ventured as far as Kenwood House.

It was a beautiful spring day with lots of families around the house having ice creams.

We walked around the house and made use of the pretty gardens where the roses and blossoms were coming out. I adored this little arch of colour! This shoot also shows why spring is one of my favourite seasons to do pre-wedding shoots in. Blossom and flowers add little pops of colour everywhere.

We then walked further into the Heath and used the beautiful backdrop of the forest for some photos. Photos in woodland are my absolute favourites.

Through this whole shoot I loved how natural Emma and Chris were. They had such a giggle! I went to Uni with Emma, and it was really lovely to see how happy both her and Chris obviously were.

We ended up rounding back up towards Kenwood House where Emma climbed a tree. I must say, this is probably my favourite sequences of images from the day!

I will end on that beaming face.

It’s pretty sad and weird not knowing when my next pre-wedding shoot will take place. However, looking back at this London engagement shoot really cheered me up!
