Last week I was lucky enough to plan and shoot a wedding editorial at a new Newcastle wedding venue, the beautiful Garden Room. Trust me when I say you won’t have seen a wedding venue like this before. It’s part of The Biscuit Factory in the Ouseburn. Let’s take a look!
A unique new Newcastle wedding venue
The Garden Room launched in November and is now taking wedding bookings! It’s attached to the Biscuit Factory, an art gallery and venue in Ouseburn, right in the centre of Newcastle. The building is a converted Victorian Warehouse, and the Garden Room has been newly renovated.
Inspired by Victorian winter gardens, this space transports you somewhere that most definitely isn’t Newcastle city centre! The edge of the room is completely packed with tropical plants which merge in with ivy hanging from the high ceiling. It feels as though nature has reclaimed the venue, yet with a sophisticated elegance throughout. Noteworthy are the gold chandeliers which add a bit of drama and luxury.
Weddings in the Garden Room: What you need to know
Significantly, The Biscuit Factory has a wedding license so you can have a civil ceremony here. In The Garden Room, this takes place facing their lush waterfall. Your aisle would be in the centre of the room and you could have up to 70 loved ones there to watch your read your vows.
After you’ve tied the knot, the room will get turned around for your wedding breakfast while you have a celebratory drinks reception. You can have up to 120 guests seated for food, and a further 60 for the evening party. As far as Newcastle wedding venues go, this is a very good size! Last orders at the bar are normally around 11.30pm, but if you want to carry on the party, you’ve got Newcastle city centre at your fingertips.
So there you have it, a little sneaky look at the Garden Room, a new totally unique Newcastle wedding venue! Getting married here? If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, drop me a message! Obviously I would love to shoot here again and chat to you 🙂
