Hendall Manor Barns Wedding Photographer: Intimate vegan micro wedding

I’m catching up on blogging all the magnificent weddings I shot last summer, and in this blog I’m going to show you exactly why a wedding photographer like me loves Hendall Manor Barns! Today I’m sharing Kathy & Adam’s intimate wedding day at this lovely East Sussex wedding venue.

Hendall Manor Barns wedding

Stone Barn wedding venue in East Sussex

You guys know barn wedding venues are some of my absolute favourites! There’s quite a few of them in East Sussex, and this was my first time shooting at Hendall Manor Barns.

The venue is a beautifully restored barn in the heart of Ashdown Forest. As soon as I arrived, the owners greeted me and couldn’t have been more friendly. This always bodes well for a venue!

Wedding ceremony at Hendall Manor Barns

Kathy and Adam had planned an intimate ceremony at the barns, followed by a relaxed drinks reception and vegan dinner.

The barn is licensed for civil ceremonies. It is also set with floor to ceiling windows on either side of the ceremony area, so it’s beautifully light.

Kathy’s Dad walked her down the aisle and then Kathy and Adam exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family. It was a really moving ceremony!

Straight after, everyone grabbed drinks and headed out to the terrace to catch some sun between the showers.

The venue has a pretty lawn courtyard and terrace, but there are also lots of quieter portrait spots around the grounds!

Past the lawn and away from the party slightly is a beautiful, separate garden. This makes a great space for either your couples portraits or group shots. The garden was in full bloom when we took a stroll together for Kathy and Adam’s portraits!

Kathy was also hiding a little baby bump, so we made sure to get some photos she could share later 🙂

If you follow the gravel path down away from the guest house and venue, there’s a lovely meadow area and pond.

I absolutely love the meadow! With a slight breeze I could get a lovely sense of motion, and the light was getting golden across the field.

Kathy and Adam were having an intimate vegan lunch with their guests, so after shooting their table setup, I left them to it.

If you’re looking for a Hendall Manor Barns wedding photographer, I would love to capture your day with you 🙂 It’s such a beautiful venue and the owners are lovely. Get in touch now to chat about your special day – let’s make some magic together!
