Beckenham Place Mansion Wedding: Simon & Vicky

Today on the blog I’m sharing Vicky & Simon’s modern and beautiful wedding at Beckenham Place Mansion in south London. As a wedding photographer hugely impacted by COVID, this was my first full day wedding shoot out of lockdown. It felt amazing to be back at my job! To see everyone able to come together again and celebrate made this a really special day!

This gorgeous London wedding venue is a georgian mansion in the heart of Beckenham Place park. Though it’s open to the public and hosts community events, you can also hire it for your wedding day! The venue is small but really made for a stunning intimate wedding.

Bridal prep at the Half Moon pub

I joined Vicky and her girls for their bridal party prep at the Half Moon pub in Herne Hill. Now this is a venue clearly used to a wedding! The bridal suite was large and bright so it’s perfect for prep photos.

All morning I was waiting for Vicky to get into her dress because as soon as I saw it hanging I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was so pretty! It was a satin gown from David Fielden and gave me some real old school Hollywood vibes in the best of ways! Vicky accessorised her dress with a pair of Jimmy Choos with pearl detail.

Wedding ceremony at Beckenham Place mansion

Vicky and Simon officially married in the drawing room of the mansion. This intimate room had green walls and large sash windows opening out on to the park! It’s a gorgeous space for a small wedding, but there are plenty of other rooms in the mansion to choose from.

After the wedding ceremony, everyone spilled out to the front of the mansion where we did confetti. A band was set up and drinks and canapes were served on the lawn. Simon and Vicky had also organised some croquet and boules for reception games!

One of the great things about the mansion is the park it’s set in. There’s a beautiful flower garden next to the mansion, which is where we headed for wedding portraits.

We took a short stroll around the garden, stopping at various spots for portraits. There’s also the expanse of the park to explore if you wanted to venture further for your couple’s shots. I always love to incorporate some colour so we made the most of the flowers in season!

Intimate wedding dinner in the periodic dining room

The dining room at Beckenham Place Mansion is one of it’s biggest draws! Squeezed full of periodic features, it really is stunning.

Vicky and Simon added a disco ball and some amazingly beautiful statement floral pieces to really bring the room to life! It was minimal chic and the clean whites against the coloured walls looked so great!

How cute is the fairy light wall? This was a lovely backdrop wall for the wedding speeches from Vicky’s father, Simon and his brother.

Because of COVID restrictions at the time no DJ or dancing was allowed. However, all the guests were in the party spirit. I think it was the first time everyone could let their hair down in a long time! The drinks continued long into the summer evening.

If you’re getting married at Beckenham Place Mansion and are looking for a wedding photographer, drop me a message and let’s chat. I would love to create some magic at this venue with you!
