As a UK wedding photographer, I hear a lot of first dance songs! If anyone knows me or follows my Instagram account, they will also know I am a huge music fan. Rock and indie makes my heart glow. Having witnessed plenty of first dances, I often wonder what I would pick as my own. I know a lot of couples I chat to don’t want to go for a traditional cheesey love song… or Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran (the most popular first dance song of the last few years). If these types of songs just don’t feel like you, I’ve compiled a little list of alternative first dance songs to get your inspiration flowing.
First dances may also be a tradition that you don’t want at your wedding, so you can also use this list as a starter for your wedding playlist!
