With the busiest wedding season I’ve ever had during 2021, my blogging has taken a hit! But, with a bit of a winter break, I’m back and sharing Selina & Noel’s incredible Le Petit Chateau wedding in Northumberland.
It feels like an age since Selina and Noel originally booked me! Thanks to COVID they moved venues and dates several times. But, everything funnily enough worked out and they got married at their original dream venue – Le Petit Chateau. This Northumberland wedding venue had been on my own wedding shooting bucket list for a long time. It’s adorable pink french chateau, beautiful outdoor space, and the Belle Epoque ceremony room makes it a wedding photographer’s dream.
Selina & Noel were one of my couples hit hardest by COVID – if I remember rightly there were at least 3 postponements and different venues! This ended up being my last wedding of 2021, and it felt right that I close the season with them. It was a lovely moment to see them finally tie the knot after so many attempts!
A bridal suite of dreams
As if there weren’t enough things about this venue for a wedding photographer to love, the bridal suite was incredible! Large, bright and with a free standing tub it’s a wonderful place to get ready and stay. The shabby chic decor of the whole hotel created such a nice ambience for this wedding.
Selina got ready with her bridal party and then her Mum and sister helped her into her dress. Talk about a drop dead gorgeous gown! Plenty of photos of that to come! She also had a traditional indian outfit to change in to later in the evening. I love it when there’s an outfit change!
Le Petit Chateau: A truly unique wedding ceremony venue in Northumberland
Le Petit Chateau is an easily recognisable UK wedding venue thanks to it’s pink chateau. The inside is just as striking as the outside! Selina and Noel were married in the Belle Epoque room surrounded by close friends and family. The Little Flower House decorated the aisles with vases and a gorgeous arrangement over the fireplace.
I won’t lie, I definitely had to try and stop myself from crying during this ceremony! Knowing how long and the stress it had taken for these two to make it to this point, and watching both Selina and Noel look emotional, definitely got me going too!
After the ceremony, everyone headed outside for canapes and cocktails on the terrace. Le Petit Chateau has a beautiful terrace with a water feature / fire feature, a cocktail van and fire pits. It’s the perfect wedding venue in summer or winter.
Wedding portraits by the river
As well as the terrace area, the venue has a meadow leading down to the river which is where we decided to do some wedding portraits. It was so worth it!
Both in front of the chateau and in the meadow are good spots for group shots. The wedding party had smoke bombs so we did some fun group shots in the meadow! You never know how smoke bombs are going to work and it was quite a windy day, but that’s part of the fun!
Cosy blush pink wedding breakfast
This pretty Northumberland wedding venue has a large ballroom for wedding breakfasts and dancing. Selina and Noel had a pretty colour palette and had clearly thought alot about their decor and details! I loved their table scape details and stationery which worked so well with the crockery. Additionally, each table had a striking high floral display as the centrepiece.
The wedding breakfast was a 7 course tasting menu followed by a band out on the terrace. Despite it being a chilly November evening, the fire pits were lit and blankets out so it was perfectly cosy.
