UK Wedding Photographer: My favourite photos of 2022

2022 was another fantastic wedding season for me! I shot 31 weddings and they took me all over the UK. From a cosy stone barn in the Cotswolds, to a boat on the Thames, I saw all types of wedding this year.

This year also included the last of my original 2020 weddings which had been postponed from COVID. The up side of COVID was that thanks to social media and emails about rescheduling, we knew each other so well by the wedding! My aim is always to feel like an old friend rather a supplier and this was even more emphasised than usual.

So, let’s get in to it! These photos are my personal favourites of the year – they may not be portfolio shots, just little moments in wedding days. Let’s see – I have a few instantly in mind but creating this list as I go! I’ll give some details on a few as I go!

Black and white wedding portraits in the grounds of Gosfield Hall at sunset. We used my prism to create a shimmery effect under this tree at this Essex wedding venue.

Above are John & Kelly at Gosfield Hall in Essex. We snuck outside during sunset and it was one of those moments where the light was beyond perfect! I was using my prisms which created the effect on the left, and I just loved that with the framing of the tree too. The sunset colours were stunning but I just love the dramatic feel of it in black and white.

Below are Nancy and Michael at Old Marylebone Town Hall, taking the top spot for my favourite confetti moment of 2022. Colourful confetti is just on another level! Their colourful wedding was incredible.

A very colourful and bright confetti moment at M&N's London wedding ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall.

Colourful confetti hits differently, and you definitely can't have to much. It brought the steps of this London wedding venue to life.

A cosy first dance at the rustic Wedding Barn at Old Hall wedding venue in Cambridgeshire.

Cosy first dances at Cripps Stone Barn…

J&B's first dance at the cosy as heck Cripps Stone Barn in the Cotswolds. This beautiful barn wedding venue in the UK is intimate and made for the most incredible winter wedding venue.

Above are Ramona and Seb who closed off my 2022 wedding. Here they are at a very misty Coombe Abbey Park in Coventry. It was a drizzly, miserable day outside but I actually love how that looked on camera!

Hot sunny days at Coltsfoot barn wedding venue…

Bridal photos on a farm…

This year I shot my first nikkah ceremony and it was one of the best afternoons! The ceremony took place outside at Chigwell Marquees which is a local wedding venue for me. The colours, the intricacies of the ceremony and the details were all absolutely beautiful. I loved it:

London elopement photographer: Islington Town Hall wedding & Luca reception

Shona & James married at Islington Town Hall, before an intimate reception at Luca in Clerkenwell. This fine dining restaurant had the most stunning interior. I found it so inspiring! I just had to do some portraits with them in these booths and at the bar!

Below is Sarah and Rob after their Chelsea Town Hall wedding, recreating that classic ‘Friends’ promo shot.

Sparkler shots on a chilly evening at the Milling Barn…

Rahimah and Frankie are an example of being able to organise an absolutely amazing wedding in 3 months. Yes, I said 3 months. They married at York House in Richmond before crossing the river for their reception at Twickenham Rowing Club on Eel Pie Island. We walked from the ceremony on this beautiful August day which just summed up their chilled out, down to earth vibe.

Finally, let’s end on the best sunset of 2022 (and it was the first wedding sunset of the year too!). Jack and Becky at Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds. LOOK AT THE COLOURS! Incredible.
