On the blog today I’m sharing my last wedding of 2025! Photographing Anna and Joe’s Tyne Bank Brewery wedding was one of my favourites of the whole year. It was super relaxed, featured music from one of my favourite rock bands, and a dress of absolute wedding dreams. Read on to see more!

Tyne Bank Brewery wedding venue in Newcastle’s Ouseburn
Tyne Bank Brewery is an industrial space on the outskirts of Newcastle in the Ouseburn. It’s a bar/events space but also an amazing city centre wedding venue. If you’re looking for a Newcastle wedding venue with industrial chic, and enough space to host up to 200 guests, this is the one for you! The space is fully open and always lends itself to a great party atmosphere.

There are a surprising number of awesome brewery wedding venues in Newcastle – you can check out my other blog post to see my favourites in the Toon:

A beautifully emotional wedding ceremony at Tyne Bank Brewery

You can get legally married at Tyne Bank Brewery and the venue can seat up to 120 guests for a ceremony. Anna and Joe had packed out the venue with their nearest and dearest, and embraced a cool industrial theme for the day. There was a mixture of dry and fresh flowers, music inspired decor and disco balls everywhere!

They opted for a wedding ceremony with personalised vows which always chokes me up a bit. There were a lot of teary eyes both in the crowd, and from Joe and Anna, which was beautiful. They exchanged rings and then sat down to sign the register making it all official!

Bubbles instead of confetti inside the brewery
Anna and Joe opted for bubbles over confetti which was an awesome choice. There were so many of them, they looked so good against the black of the brewery. They even then went for a twirl at the end and a second lap to their guests’ delight.

Wedding reception at Tyne Bank Brewery
Straight after the bubble line, everyone grabbed a drink and the happy couple greeted all their guests. This is my time to grab as many candid moments as possible and soak up the atmosphere.

Anna & Joe wanted minimal formal photos, and the backdrop of their dining setup was gorgeous for it. It also means I didn’t have to drag families far/outside. However, we did grab the groomsmen and bridal party to do more fun shots on the road outside. I love how these came out!

Fun & casual wedding photography at Tyne Bank Brewery
Everyone thinks wedding portraits takes loads of time. Some photographers may indeed take you away for a good while, but that’s not my style. You can get amazing stuff in a short amount of time, and then get back to the party. After all, you’re there to see your favourite people!

The red brick wall outside Tyne Bank Brewery can make for some really cute shots, and Anna & Joe specifically wanted some outside the door. I am officially obsessed with Anna’s dress! I absolutely adore it when brides embrace colour, including this subtle blush peach/pink.

Rock inspired wedding breakfast decor & memorable speeches
As soon as Anna & Joe enquired with me, I knew we were kindred spirits! They love gigs and rock music, so I wasn’t at all surprised to see their wedding decor involve a nod to that. All the tables were named after local gig venues which I loved.

Now, we have to talk about the speeches. There was a lovely collection of them, but my favourite had to be from Joe’s groomsmen. There was a whole gang of them and they did a special edition of ‘A Question of Sport’, based all on Joe. And it made for some great reactions.

After dinner, all the guests headed to the bar for drinks and cakes before the full party started. I also used this opportunity to grab Anna and Joe for a few more portraits in the lovely chesterfield style armchairs.

First dance and 90’s bangers on the dancefloor

Anna and Joe gathered everyone on the dance floor for their first dance, which of course was You Me At Six. As one of my favourite bands, I sang along to the whole thing while taking photos. Afterwards, the DJ started cracking out some true bangers for millennials. We’re talking lots of 90’s classics like the Spice Girls and even B*witched. There was a Newcastle game on at the same time so a few cheeky guests were watching their phones near the bar. Luckily, the toon won so that just added to the party atmosphere after.

I had an absolute blast at this wedding! It was so relaxed. Nothing was forced or stressful, just going with the flow and enjoying every minute. I was sad to leave that dance floor.
