Misty beach & Tynemouth Priory couples photoshoot

Join me today on the blog for this awesome misty Tynemouth Priory couples photoshoot! Grab a cup of tea and let’s get right into it. Here’s a little sneaky peak…

As a North Shields wedding photographer, I have got to know a lot of the local wedding suppliers near me. Two of them, are lovely Tash who is a celebrant, and her husband Tony, who’s a wedding videographer. We’ve worked together on shoots before but I was absolutely chuffed when they asked me to do a Tynemouth couples photoshoot with them to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Having another wedding supplier ask you to take photos for them is the highest form of compliment!

It was May, so we were looking forward to doing a lovely sunset session on a warm, summer evening. The northern weather did not play ball! That week, the evenings and mornings had brought a lot of sea mist and drizzle. We decided to plough on ahead regardless! I suggested we move the shoot from Longsands beach, to Tynemouth so we could get atmospheric shots of the Priory and the beach there.

This gave us a few more options as backdrops. We had the Priory, the beach, and if the weather really wasn’t good we could walk along Front Street and pop under cover or in a bar. As I was parking up on Front Street, the rain was hitting my windscreen.

However, the rain passed over as soon as I got out the car and we walked down to the beach to see what it was like. The mist was beautiful so we got stuck right in!

I am obsessed with how these came out! Not as moody as it felt on the day, but I love the mist out across the lighthouse.

After some shots against this lovely atmospheric backdrop, it was getting chilly so we made a move for the Priory. The Priory is actually a wedding venue but I love the views of it even from the winding road down to the beach from Tynemouth.

Tash & Tony were absolutely great on camera and were up for having some fun. As it was a bit of a miserable night out, it worked in our favour as we basically had the place to ourselves!

If you’re thinking of doing a Tynemouth couples photoshoot, drop me a message. I’m super local and absolutely love doing them, whatever the weather!
