Today I’m sitting down and sharing my first North Shields Register Office wedding of the year 🙂 Ellie & Sol kicked off my 2024 Newcastle weddings with their legal wedding at North Tyneside, followed by an evening party at The Baltic in the city centre. Let’s take a look 🙂
Documentary wedding photography in North Shields
Fun fact, I live a 3 minute walk from North Tyneside Register Office in North Shields, so I’m officially as local as it gets 🙂 Ellie & Sol also live here, so I headed over to their place before the ceremony to capture Ellie getting ready.
North Shields Register Office wedding in the Tyne View Room
Ellie and Sol went for the Tyne View room for their ceremony, and it totally lives up to its name with stunning views over the mouth of the Tyne. It’s one of the bigger spaces at the Register Office, so it was perfect for 50+ guests. Ellie made her entrance with her Dad by her side, and then these two nailed their personal vows in front of everyone.
After the ceremony, we headed out to the terrace behind the register office for photos and confetti fun. I always recommend going with coloured confetti—it pops so much better on camera, even on windy days like this one when it disappeared in seconds!
Wedding Portraits at the Priory in Tynemouth
Remember in May when we had that awful week of solid rain and gale force winds? Yep.. you guessed it, that was when Ellie & Sol’s wedding was. After their ceremony, we’d planned to head over to Tynemouth to get some couples photos at The Priory and Castle. Luckily, it had stopped raining but the wind was the strongest I’ve ever seen it there! We managed a handful of shots before Ellie’s veil nearly blew off and we called it a day! Still totally worth it 🙂
Wedding photography on the Quayside in Newcastle
For their evening celebrations, Ellie and Sol were heading to The Baltic in town, so we planned to meet on the Quayside for some shots with the Tyne Bridge – hopefully with less wind! The weather gods were good to us, and we took our time wandering along the Quayside to the Baltic, stopping to get iconic shots with the Tyne Bridge. Here are just a few of my favourites.
All round this was an absolutely lush day with these two! After the quayside, we headed off to the Baltic where we rejoined the party for a few hours for speeches and dancing. If you’re having a Newcastle wedding or getting married at North Shields Register Office and looking for a local, fun and relaxed photographer, pop me a message! I’d love to hear from you 🙂
