This is a styled shoot I have been waiting so so patiently to share with you! It’s finally been published over on dreamy Boho Weddings . Introducing Esmerelda, shot at Longton Wood wedding venue in Kent.
This concept was the brain child of Kayleigh K Mua, as part of her Disney Princesses styled shoot series. I was so happy to be asked to photograph this one. Esmerelda was always one of my favourite Disney princesses. I had a Barbie doll of her and everything as a kid. Kayleigh and Valentina from The Stars Inside planned this together and went all out on finding an amazing group of suppliers.
This shoot was an absolute bohemian dream, which I think is why Kayleigh thought of me! My favourite boho wedding stationer, Wonderland Invites, supplied us with a gorgeous invitation set and menus. The floral decoration is so delicate and the tassels added a real something extra. It combined with the styling and Willow & Boo lollipops so well!
The beautiful outdoor location for this shoot was Longton Wood in the Kent countryside. Snuggled away in the woods is a stunning ceremony area with a path leading to a clearing for receptions. I absolutely love the fire pit area which was first put in Jenny, the venue owner’s own wedding! I’ve shot here a few times now and fall in love a bit more every time.
Styling and hire came from the wonderful Hire Love. I loved their vintage green sofa and the beautiful fire pit bundle they put together with furs, rugs and comfy cushions. Their little deer statues also stole the show (see them hiding by the cake above). Sweet treats came from Bluebell Kitchen. I love this rustic staked cake – it’s like a little Disney castle of its own.
Balloons came from Poppy at Glitzy Balloon Company. I absolutely loved the large marble balloons. They added such a statement to the photos in the wood. She also created a magnificent balloon trail around the swing in the main reception space.
The gypsy inspired dresses were from Audrey Ashley Couture and were combined with headpieces by Tilly Thomas Lux. Both looks were incredible and they really fit with the Esmerelda vibes! Hedges and Flowers used the traditional Esmerelda colour palette to create a beautiful bouquet and floral crown for our own gypsy princess Elysia. The colours are so gorgeous. Over the past few years I have definitely fallen in love with darker hues for weddings, they make such a statement. The bouquet also had a pretty ribbon from Silk & Willow.
I adore the ceremony area at Longton Wood! for this shoot we decorated it with dreamcatchers by Rock the Day, and some extra foliage. The dreamcatchers really stood out in a fab way.
We ended the day with Rolling Dough pizza who were kind enough to treat us all. For an outdoor wedding venue like Longton Wood they are absolutely perfect for alternative wedding food! We created a cute dining area, but also had the fire pit as a gathering spot.
After I’d had my fill of vegan pizza we popped out to the fields at the entrance to Longton Wood, where the sun was just starting to set. I think these were my favourite photos of the day. I’m such a sucker for golden hour!
For the whole day we had the amazing Emma Hill with us on Videography. She created such a beautiful memory of the shoot. You can see the full video here. It not only captures the magic but also the hard work and efforts of the whole team. It also blends so perfectly with the photography – dream team!
