Bride and groom kissing at Valentines Mansion wedding venue

I’ve lived in Redbridge for about 8 years and I’m lucky enough to call Valentines Mansion my local wedding venue! As a regular Valentines Mansion wedding photographer, here’s some information on the venue and why I love it!

I’ve now photographed many weddings here and I always love going back. With it’s historic and unique ceremony rooms, and the walled garden it is a wedding photographer’s dream!

About Valentines Mansion

Valentines Mansion is a Graded II listed building in Redbridge. It sits within Valentines Park in Gants Hill and has a 18th century historic garden.

The Mansion was built in 1696 and has stunning period rooms, a grand staircase, glass windows and original fireplaces. As a wedding venue, the rooms scream of historic charm and character. The large sash windows and french doors mean the venue is always light and bright.

Wedding Ceremonies at Valentines Mansion

There are multiple wedding ceremony rooms at Valentines Mansion, varying in capacity. The Drawing Room on the first floor is the largest and can hold up to 70 people. It overlooks the South Lawn and has it’s own balcony which I always love to use for couples photos.

The Morning Room downstairs holds 40 people and looks out across the park and gardens. It has a lovely sash window which your guests will face towards, and period features like a beautiful grand fireplace.

While these are the 2 main rooms for ceremonies, I’ve also shot in the Holcombe Room which can hold up to 6 guests. It’s only open on a Tuesday. The Gallery is a permanent exhibition space showcasing local artists, but can also be used for ceremonies. It can fit 40 guests.

You can also hire Valentines Mansion for wedding receptions of up to 70 guests. On a summer’s day, walking out the french doors to a drinks reception on the lawn would be incredible! Having your wedding breakfast in the period rooms would also be truly memorable and pretty.

Wedding photography at Valentines Mansion

As I’ve already mentioned above, the interior of the mansion easily makes it one of my favourite London wedding ceremony locations. My favourite thing about Valentines Mansion is the walled garden. It’s where I love to take couples for their wedding portraits. It has lots of hidden spots and looks different in all seasons!

Valentines Park wedding photography

After your ceremony I’ll typically take you around the walled garden and the park for your couples portraits. I love to wander and use different backdrops and colours. If you book Valentines Mansion for your wedding ceremony, this includes 1.5 hrs within the mansion grounds before you need to leave.

As well as the walled garden, there’s a rose garden, cafe and the larger park grounds themselves. There is a gorgeous river running through the park and a lake. Plenty of pretty backdrops for your wedding portraits or even an engagement shoot!
