Stylish Old Marylebone Town Hall & Hoxton Hotel Wedding

Today I’m sharing my first wedding of 2023! And let me tell you know, it’s a gorgeous one. Anna and Robbie got in touch with me in October looking for a wedding photographer for their intimate London wedding and following party with their friends. They were planning an untraditional day, without the stresses & timeline of a traditional wedding. They tied the knot at the Old Marylebone Town Hall before a Hoxton Hotel wedding party into the night!

Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding ceremony in the Knightsbridge room

It was a sunny day in January when this lovely pair kicked off my 2023 weddings!

Anna and Robbie had chosen the beautiful Marylebone Town Hall for their wedding ceremony. They gathered 30 of their closest friends and family in the Knightsbridge room. The feature lights, fireplace and furniture make this a really unique and stylish ceremony room.

As they said their vows to each other, the rings were passed around the room in a ‘ring warming ceremony’. This is something that was new to me but I absolutely loved! All guests hold the rings and in the process they ‘warm up’ the rings with good wishes for the couple’s future.

Once the rings made it back to the happy couple, they finished up their vows and shared their first kiss!

Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding portraits

Often at Marylebone Town Hall you need to get outside and on the steps quickly before the next wedding comes in. However, perhaps because it was mid week out of season, we had some proper time to ourselves inside for wedding portraits!

As I came out the Knightsbridge room with their guests, I saw Anna & Robbie having a moment together by a window in the corridor. I kept them as they were and managed to capture these little moments through the door of another room.

I absolutely loved this corridor and the marble atrium. Marylebone Town Hall really is one of the prettiest of all the town hall wedding venues in London!

Anna had said she really wanted some photos on the infamous staircase of the town hall, so we quickly did some there before heading outside.

Anna and Robbie were going on to a restaurant for lunch with their guests, before their party this evening. After group photos on the steps we took a few moments for some more couples portraits outside the town hall. I love this little nook behind the famous pillars for portraits!

I adore these shots of Anna! She looks so elegant and the pops of red with the dress give me 1920s vibes.

Hoxton Hotel Southwark wedding reception

After lunch with the guests and then a bit of downtime at their hotel, Anna and Robbie were ready for their wedding party! They’d hired the 12th Floor of the Hoxton Hotel in Southwark. This space is usually for co-working but you can hire it for events in the evening. It’s a really gorgeous venue!

The space holds 130 people with a bar, various lounge areas and private balcony.

The views here are incredible. You look out at the Shard on one side, and from a balcony you look out at the Thames and towards Westminster. The space itself in modern and chic – everything you’d expect for a stylish London wedding!

Guests entered to champagne and cocktails before Anna and Robbie were announced in to the room.

Anna had changed into a beautiful floor length red dress for the evening do! After more cocktails and an evening buffet and canapes, the happy couple cut the cake.

Anna and Robbie hired a band and one of their groomsmen even did a special guest appearance on the sax! After the cake it was straight over to the dancefloor in the Winter Garden.

I always love shooting at Marylebone Town Hall and would definitely love to shoot at the Hoxton Hotel again. What a dazzling wedding venue for a super stylish London wedding. As well as some fab party spots, you could also get some beautiful wedding portraits in all the cute spots like the Winter Garden. Message me now if you’re getting married here and would love to chat! Let’s make some magic together.
