My last shoot of the year was a spectacular celebration of rich and natural autumn colours, and woodland inspired gypsy vibes. This shoot is perfect if you are looking for some seasonal wedding inspiration! The shoot all started with an idea, formed alongside Anna from Lucky Sixpence Bridal. We imagined a vintage gypsy styled bride, which led us to Alice, the owner of Winnie the Vintage Caravan. She has just launched a brand new and incredibly bohemian wedding venue just outside of Braintree in Essex which we used for this shoot.
We got Rock the Day and A Vintage Garden Wedding on board to style the venue for us, with hire from Anthology Vintage Hire. We borrowed some truly gorgeous pieces.. a rustic dark dresser, a grand green vintage sofa, and wooden benches for the ceremony area which went perfectly with a handmade copper painted centrepiece by Vintage Garden Weddings. The colour theme was teal and orange, which alongside the greenery of the woodland made a perfect pairing.
For florals, The Country Garden Flower Company out did themselves with a huge hoop for the ceremony area, filled with seasonal flowers and berries. It is the perfect backdrop for a ceremony, particularly at this venue against the back drop of a huge oak tree. I also loved the deeply seasonal large bouquet which was absolutely stunning and full of english beauties. To go with the table decorations, we had an incredible mossy centrepiece, filled with mushrooms and other smaller florals. I've not seen anything like it before but for an autumnal wedding it was absolutely perfect! Natural and simple it would look wonderful on tables - particularly paired with candles or fairy lights.
Anon Design provided us with some gorgeous watercoloured ombre stationary which I put in the vintage dresser in the woods. This created a real rustic and enchanted woodland feel which I fell in love with! The whole shoot was so unique. As if all this wasn't enough, we also had Winnie the caravan to use, and a seriously cosy looking bell tent from Tee and Toast glamping.
The shoot all tied back to the dresses. We had a whopping three to choose from and I ended up using every one because they were all simply wonderful - and each fitted different setups and vibes. We started with a gorgeous lace number which was timeless, classic and would be flattering to anyone!
When we moved on to our enchanted woodland ceremony, we swapped the dress with a frankly wonderful 1970s batwing dress which just matched the location so well. This was all the gypsy inspiration I had envisioned when we first started planning the shoot. Finally, we used a cream high necked dress with gorgeous orange and brown details - the PERFECT colours to go with the rest of the shoot! All the dresses were expertly modelled by Katherine. You may have seen her on my site before - I photographed an engagement shoot for her, with her fiancé Daniel at the start of the year in Epping Forest. She was kind enough to offer to model for this shoot, and I think you will agree, she made a beautiful vintage bride. Original Button Hair did a wonderful job on a relaxed and bohemian updo, while Knot Your Average Bride gave us a beautifully subtle make up palette to emphasise Katherine's features.
I also matched two vintage inspired rings from London Victorian Ring Co for this shoot - one was a deep emerald ring which stood out beautifully against the white dresses, and the other was a very sparkly 1920s styled ring. Scroll to the bottom for a full list of suppliers :)
