A wintery 1930's Shanghai inspired shoot with May Loh

I met May through a party I shot back in October and since then we've started working together, shooting for her lovely vintage inspired blog. We did our first shoot on a chilly December day in Bethnal Green. May was off to a ball hosted by Chap Magazine in the evening so we thought it the perfect time to capture her beautiful vintage Shanghai look. I've always loved 1930's dress - it's so elegant and effortlessly classy, and the Chinese vintage dress adds something so much more with the exquisite details.

We had a relaxed stroll through Bethnal Green Park which despite it being December still had some lovely golden leaves on the trees on the ground, making a perfect natural background - visually, autumn is always one of my favourite seasons. Bless May for being so resilient - it really was freezing for her to walk around without a jacket while I shot!!

After strolling through the park we headed for the V&A Museum of Childhood which had a great feature wall at the front which we used as a background while the sun was setting.

If you want to see more details of May's outfit and read her own post on the shoot then check out her blog 'Walking in May'

In other news... I am waiting on the delivery of a new camera this week :) :) Like a big kid at Christmas!
